“..I have always thought that the heart of legal work can be traced back to those civil law principles that have been at the basis of my education. This is why I have tried to firmly hold these principles even when I intensively pursued other fields, especially administrative law.
In my professional life, which spans almost 50 years, administrative and civil law have blended harmoniously, confirming to me the need for a holistic understanding and approach to law.
Today, when I see this holistic vision fractured, I try to reinvigorate it by looking at the new principles of European law..”
